CNC Machining of a Cylinder Head Pattern for the Tractor Racing Industry
Bren-Ko Patterns was commissioned by a customer in the tractor racing industry to custom fabricate the cylinder head pattern profiled here, from which castings would be made. Employing a mix of processes including CNC routing, milling, cutting, sanding, and sawing using cutting edge CNC milling machinery and tools, wood was formed into the exacting configurations as per customer 2D CAD drawings. This pattern features notable core shapes and a tightly held tolerance .010”. Comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections were carried out to maintain quality and accuracy.
Overall measurements of the cylinder head pattern were 36” in length, 10” in width and 5” thick. This project had a turnaround time of 3 weeks. For more about this tractor racing pattern, or the other advanced custom foundry pattern manufacturing capabilities available please see the table below or contact Bren-Ko directly.
